The Rejuvenation Bar offers professional medical microneedling for acne scars, uneven texture and fine lines. Our Miami (Kendall) office uses SkinPen, and our North Providence, RI office uses the Exceed pen. Appointments take about an hour, including numbing, and can include add-ons such as vitamin serums, PRP or salmon DNA.

What is microneedling?
Microneedling uses a pen-shaped medical device with very fine needles to create thousands of tiny, controlled channels in the skin. Your skin responds by making new collagen and elastin, which can soften scars and improve texture over time. It is also called collagen induction therapy.

What happens at a microneedling appointment?
Plan for about one hour in total.

Cleanse and numb
We cleanse your skin and apply numbing cream to the face, neck and chest, depending on the areas being treated.

Treatment
After the skin is numb, the pen is passed over each area in sections.

Serum or add-on
Your chosen serum or add-on is applied while the channels are open.

Aftercare kit
You go home with an aftercare kit and written instructions.
Microneedling add-ons: vitamins, PRP and salmon DNA
Add-ons are chosen by your skin goals. Right now our most popular choice is a vitamin and glow serum for brightness. Other options include PRP, made from a small sample of your own blood, and salmon DNA (PDRN) products, which are popular for skin quality. Research on many add-ons is still limited, and FDA has not reviewed microneedling devices for delivering serums, PRP or other products into the skin. Dr. Eileen will explain what each add-on is before you choose.
Microneedling aftercare and downtime
Your skin will be red and feel tight or warm, like a mild sunburn, for a few days. Right after treatment, your skin has thousands of open channels, so for the first days:
stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen once allowed
skip makeup until your instructions say it is safe
avoid active products such as retinoids and acids
avoid hard exercise, pools and saunas
How much does microneedling cost?
Microneedling pricing is the same at both offices. Your total depends on the areas treated and any add-ons. Series pricing and current promotions are listed in the Rejuvenation Bar app, and payment plans are available through Cherry, CareCredit and Klarna; contact the office about the Klarna option.

Do both offices use SkinPen?
No. Miami uses SkinPen. North Providence currently uses the Exceed pen.
Does microneedling help acne scars?
It can improve many types of acne scars over a series of treatments. Dr. Eileen will assess your scar type first.
Does microneedling hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first. Most people feel light scratching or vibration.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart. The number depends on your goals.
When can I wear makeup again?
Follow your written aftercare. Makeup is usually avoided for at least the first day.
What is salmon DNA microneedling?
It is microneedling paired with a PDRN product made from salmon DNA, used for skin quality goals.
