Sculptra in Miami and North Providence

Sculptra is a biostimulator, an injectable that prompts your body to rebuild its own collagen. It is not a traditional filler: you see a slight change at first, then results build over several months and can last up to 2 years. The Rejuvenation Bar offers Sculptra at both our Miami (Kendall) and North Providence, RI offices.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a material that has been used in medicine for decades. When it is injected under the skin, your body responds by producing new collagen in that area. That is why Dr. Eileen Rivera Jimenez, DNP, FNP, calls it a biostimulator rather than a filler: it helps your body do the work over time.

Who is a good candidate for Sculptra?

Sculptra suits adults who have lost facial volume with age or weight loss and prefer a gradual, natural-looking change. It is not the right choice if you want instant results for an event, or lip volume. It should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or prone to heavy scarring.

What happens during treatment?

  1. 1

    Assessment

Dr. Eileen assesses your face and recommends the areas and number of sessions.

  2. 2

    Injection

The area is cleansed and numbed, and Sculptra is injected in small amounts.

  3. 3

    At-home massage

You massage the area at home as instructed, which helps the product spread evenly.

  4. 4

    Next session

You return for your next session and progress check, usually several weeks later.

Sculptra results timeline

Right after treatment, you may look fuller because of swelling and the liquid the product is mixed with. That fades within days. Over the following weeks and months, new collagen builds gradually. Most people see their full result a few months after their final session.

What are the side effects of Sculptra?

Swelling, bruising, tenderness and redness are common for a few days. Small bumps under the skin can form, which is one reason correct technique and at-home massage matter. As with any injectable, a rare risk is injection into a blood vessel; call us right away about severe pain, skin color changes or vision changes.

How much does Sculptra cost?

Sculptra is priced by the vial, and pricing is the same at both offices. Your total depends on the areas treated and the number of sessions. Payment plans are available through Cherry, CareCredit and Klarna; contact the office about the Klarna option.
