IV therapy vs vitamin shots: what is the difference?

Some formulas, including Tri-Immune Boost, can be given either way. Dr. Eileen Rivera Jimenez, DNP, FNP helps you pick the route that fits your goal.

B12 shots

Our B12 shots use methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12 that the body can use directly. B12 shots are commonly used by people with low B12 levels, including some people on plant-based diets or certain medicines such as metformin. If you have ongoing tiredness, tell Dr. Eileen, since many things besides B12 can cause it and labs can help find the reason.

Tri-Immune Boost

Tri-Immune Boost combines vitamin C, glutathione and zinc. It can be given as an IV or as a weekly shot, and it is popular during cold and flu season. It is not a substitute for a flu shot and does not prevent illness on its own.

Other IVs and shots we offer

Vitamin C, an antioxidant nutrient, alone or in blends

Glutathione, an antioxidant your body makes naturally

L-carnitine, a nutrient involved in how the body uses fat for energy

Amino acid blends and Lipo-Mino, blends of amino acids and B vitamins; ask for the exact ingredients

NAD+, which has its own page because its visits and routes are different

Who should not get IV therapy?

Tell us before booking if you have kidney or heart disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have allergies, take blood thinners, or have reacted to an IV or injection before. IV fluids and some nutrients are not safe for everyone. Dr. Eileen reviews your history before your first treatment.

How much does IV therapy cost?

IV and vitamin shot pricing is the same at both offices and depends on the formula. Packages and promotions appear in the Rejuvenation Bar app. First responders and healthcare workers, including nurses, can ask about our specials. Payment plans are available through Cherry, CareCredit and Klarna; contact the office about the Klarna option.
